outline for still life composition for studio 1: (maybe something to go off of for the final?)
from the book "we call it human nature" copyright 1939:
"We stick pretty closely to the familiar, begrudging the effort it takes to perceive anything new. Perceiving the new costs effort and means passing through several stages."
- anything entirely new appears at first as a completely meaningless entity.
- we make sense by beginning to analyze it. break it up into elements that we recognize indivudually.
- reassemble these elements and find relationships for them to hang together.
- they lost their separate existence and become fused. a meaningful whole emerges.
