SQUARE FORCE 1!

i'm really pumped about this post because its finally get out of my head and into the real world.

THIS IS MY IDEA:
i say we pick an empty parking lot, an open field, any lot, alley, rooftop, side street, etc and set up some work.
i'd like to make this pretty spontaneous and have the work go up the night before the show.
i'd like to make it pretty interactive and have all mediums possible.
if you have some good recommendations for spaces in logan square, please hit me up.
it'd be cool to have the whole thing be pretty collaborative.

we'll worry about dates and stuff here in a week or so.

WHAT I HOPE:
i'd love there to be an artist community/collective/gang/hospice/coalition/support group/confederation or caucus to be set up.
i think it would serve us well.
just a way to get shows set up and get work out
and collaborate and eat food and maybe dance without pants on.

I NEED WORK!
anything basically.
it can be as small or big as you want it to be.

HERE'S MY EMAIL:

this weather won't drag us down!

open call for work coming soon.

outline for still life composition for studio 1: (maybe something to go off of for the final?)

from the book "we call it human nature" copyright 1939:
"We stick pretty closely to the familiar, begrudging the effort it takes to perceive anything new. Perceiving the new costs effort and means passing through several stages."

  • anything entirely new appears at first as a completely meaningless entity.
  • we make sense by beginning to analyze it. break it up into elements that we recognize indivudually.
  • reassemble these elements and find relationships for them to hang together.
  • they lost their separate existence and become fused. a meaningful whole emerges.
